No Stupid People
One of our favorite cruising destinations in Maine is Frenchboro on Long Island, about 8 miles off the mainland. Coming into the harbor we always call ahead to the town dock and they will delivery a full lobster dinner to the boat as we moor. Sitting in the cockpit after a day of sailing, eating lobster and throwing the shells over our shoulders is why we come. The island has a permanent population of 61. They are a friendly but independent, no nonsense group, exemplified by the sign on this lobster shack “No Stupid People”.
